Summary
Our client, Marrakech Restaurant, is seeking to add skilled Cooks to their North Adelaide team. Known for its authentic Moroccan cuisine, Marrakech Restaurant has a rich history in Adelaide, evolving from its successful Hyde Park venue. This new North Adelaide location continues to offer the same exceptional food, service, and atmosphere, with a focus on fresh ingredients, Moroccan spices, and traditional cooking techniques.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of Moroccan cuisine.
- Monitor quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation stages.
- Create and design menus featuring traditional Moroccan flavours and ingredients.
- Estimate food and labour costs to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Order food supplies and manage kitchen inventory effectively.
- Prepare and cook authentic Moroccan dishes using fresh ingredients.
- Instruct and supervise kitchen staff in proper cooking procedures.
- Ensure hygiene standards are strictly followed at all times.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and train junior staff members.
- Collaborate with waiting staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Experiment with new recipes and presentation styles to enhance the menu.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen area.
Applicants must meet the following relevant requirements, qualifications, experience and skills to be considered for this role:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery would be advantageous.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proven expertise in preparing Moroccan dishes or similar cuisine.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene regulations and best practices.
- Experience in planning menus, estimating costs, and ordering food supplies.
- Flexibility in adapting traditional dishes to modern customer preferences.
